Registration > Bursaries
The European Crystallographic Association (ECA), the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) and the French Association of Crystallography (AFC) financially support this school for the awarding of scholarships.
Students, PhDs and young post-docs (up to 3 years after thesis defence) can apply for a scholarship.
The Bursary Committee of ECS9 will select applications and award scholarships among the candidates. The awarding policy will be consistent with the IUCr policy on gender balance (https://www.iucr.org/iucr/principles-and-policies/gender-balance).
To apply for a scholarship, you have to send an e-mail to ecs-9@sciencesconf.org (subject: “Bursary application”) with a single PDF file (named “candidat_full_name.pdf”) including the following items (each 2 pages maximum): (1) CV (2) Summary of your work (internship, PhD thesis or post-doctoral) (3) Recommendation letter of your team director or supervisor, and (4) Motivation letter
The request must be submitted no later than February 15th 2024.
Decisions will be communicated on March 1st 2024.
Rewarded candidates must communicate their acceptance of the scholarship to the organizers within one week after communication of their award, otherwise their scholarship will be revoked and will be used for another candidate.
For the scholarship to become effective, you must have paid the registration fees before the deadline (15th of March or 1st of May) and attend the school in person. If the registration is not completed by the payment of inscription fees, the scholarship will be revoked and awarded to the next candidate on the waiting list.
Please note that later rewarded candidates (beneficiated from revoked scholarships) will have also to communicate their acceptance of the scholarship to the organizers within one week after communication of their award.
The payment of the scholarship will be executed by bank transfer after the school, upon receipt of justifications of travel expenses. The reimbursed amount will be the one communicated in the message of 15th of February and amount to at least €350.
